Recommendations on the information inspection
General public have the right to file application for inspection of any information.
    The right of general public to make a request for any information is in accordance with Section 11 of the Act without any particular restriction. A person shall have the right to make a request without having to be the interested person.
Right for inspection
    General public also have the right for official information inspection without having to be the interested person. The law specifically prescribes that the State agency shall have to make available the official information at least according to the lists as required under Section 9 of the Act. Such information shall be compiled by and kept at the Official Information Centre for general public inspection, for example, plans in relation to projects and budgets, concession agreements or such other monopoly agreements, etc.
Right to request for copy or certified copy of the information

    In addition to the right for inspection, general public also have the right to request the State agency for copy or certified copy of information they are interested in.


    Remarks General public who request for copy or certified copy of any information shall bear fee and expense as charged by the relevant State agency. The fee and expense shall not be in excess of the rate(s) approved by the Board.

A person shall have the right to file a written request to inspect or to obtain copy/ certified copy of his/ her own personal information he/ she so requested (Section 25 paragraph 1).
    This is the case where a State agency has gathered personal information of a person, such as medical history, working profile or financial information of a person. The owner of such information shall be entitled under the law to request for information inspection or request for copy of such information. The word “person” shall mean a person in general. The law extends to the non-Thai national person having the domicile in Thailand as well Thai person.
